Snow Play!

Today we took advantage of the beautiful snowfall and went outside to play in the snow.  We had so much fun!

I will be sending home your child's snow clothes for over the Holiday Break from school.  Please make sure your child brings their snow clothes back to school when we return to school on January 3rd.  When the weather permits, we will try to go outside everyday.  Your child will need: jacket, boots, hats, gloves, and snowpants.  And extra pair of clothes, especially socks can be stored in your child's hallway bucket if needed.  Thanks!

Reminder:  We will be having a PAJAMA DAY in kindergarten tomorrow, Friday, December 23rd!  Your child may wear their pajamas to school.  Please make sure they have sneakers to wear to PE.  (No slippers.)  Your child may bring a stuff animal if they would like to, as well.

The Gingerbread Man Visit

Run, run, as fast as you can...you can't catch me, I'm the Gingerbread Man!

We were so excited that the Gingerbread Man came to our school to visit us today!  This morning before going to K-Time we were in the hallway with Mrs. Ryan's class reading a Gingerbread Man book. All of a sudden he peeked around the corner to surprise us!  We jumped up, ran after him, and went down the hall into the cafeteria. We were so happy to be able to meet him and ask him our many questions.  We were sad to see him leave, but as you know he had to run!

Goodbye, Gingerbread Man!  We will see you again, next year!

Guest Reader

Look who surprised us this morning as our Friday Guest Reader....Mr. Lockwood!  He read us the book called Nanette's Baguette by Mo Willems.  It is a new book written by one of our favorite book authors!

Thank you, Mr. Lockwood for sharing this fantastic silly story with us!

Winter Concert Assembly

Today we enjoyed listening to the 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders as the performed for their winter concert.  They all did an amazing job playing musical instruments and singing winter themed songs.

We will be having our winter party in our classroom on Monday afternoon.  Thank you to all that have volunteered to send in a snack or treat and who signed up at Open House to volunteer their time to help at our party.  I will post pictures of our party games and activities on Monday evening.  Stay tuned!

Mad Science and the Hour of Code

What a fun week here at GES!  We started the week with a fantastic Science Assembly called Mad Science. We learned all about solids, liquids, and gases.  It was so much fun!

We ended our week participating in the Hour of Code.  Thanks to Mrs. LaBarbarera's 4th grade class for helping us use the library computers.  A list of fun kid friendly websites were sent home on Wednesday afternoon with your child.  You are welcome to try them at home with your child.
